Задачи:
- закрепление изученной лексики и грамматического материала;
- развитие навыков устной речи, аудирования и письма;
- развитие положительной мотивации при обучении иностранному языку.
Ход урока
1. Оргмомент.
Good-morning! Glad to see you! I hope everybody is well and in a good mood. Sit down. (Тихозвучитмузыка, песнянаанглийскомязыке). Do you hear the song?
- What language is it in?
- Do you speak English?
- What country is this?
- What is the capital of Great Britain? – Very well.
2. Введение учащихся в сюжет урока.
T: Dear boys and girls, guests! Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to the Club of the Merry and Quick- Witted! The theme of today’s lesson is “Great Britain” and “How do you know English?”
Let me introduce our teams. Team 1, stand up, please! The captain of the team is Misha. This is team 2. Stand up, please! Kolya is the captain. Team 1, what is your name? – “School Stars”. Team 2, tell us your name, please! – “Merry Friends”

a) The greeting
T: Let’s begin our first competition. I invite the captains of the teams here. Each of you must greet our guests and speak about yourself. Go to the blackboard, let’s start!
Captain 1: My name is Misha. I am 12 years old and I am a pupil of the 6-th form. I am Russian and I live in Ostrovnoy. My hobby is music. I prefer listening to modern music when I have free time. I have many friends and we spend free time together: we go for a walk, play games, talk and always help each other. I am fond of drawing. I’d like to be an artist.
Thanks, you may take your seats. Both captains were good.
Team 1 gets 5 points and team 2 gets also 5 points.

We are coming to the 3-d competition. In this competition we’ll check how well our teams can spell the words. Look at the words and find the mistake. The first team start, please. Write the word correctly.

5. A break (Переменка)
Are you tired? I suspect you are. It’ s time for a musical break. You know many English songs. Let’s sing them. (Little Red Engine, Pease Pudding Hot).
Both teams were very good. Every team gets 5 points for this task.
6. Word Square(Сканворд)
Let’s start the next competition. This is a Word Square. Find as many words as you can. Begin the 1-t team! The members of the teams must come to the blackboard one after another and write one word.

7. The next stage of our Competition is a grammar point (грамматическийконкурс).
Every team gets a card with irregular verbs. You must give the 2-d and the 3-d forms of the verbs.

8. Now, the 2-d stage of grammar competition.
You know the tenses. I’ll show you the tables how they are formed and you must name the tense.

9. Finally, let’s end the competition with the last task “Competition of captains”The captains must say the Russian equivalent of an English proverb.
