 Презентация

Ход урока.

1. Warm Up. Учащиеся отвечают на вопросы учителя и выражают свои мнения.

T: Young people have a particular relationship with the world. There are a lot of groupings( subcultures) that have interests different from tnose of the mainstream culture. A particular cultural grouping is a way for young people to express their individuality.-What cultural groupings do you know? – How do you personally express your individuality? –What do you think the main features of such groupings are?

(схемы на слайде)

2. (текст на слайде уч-ся читают с целью извлечения конкретной информации).There is some information how teenagers' cultural grouping began. When the new trend in music, Rock-n-Roll, appeared in the 1950s, it immediately became very popular with young people.

The first group was «Teddy Boys». Their clothers were an initation of

the clothes which were worn in Edwardian England- the time of the reign of Edward VII, the beginning of the 20th century(Ted and Teddy are abbreviations of Edward). They wore long jackets with velvet collars, «drainpipe» trousers (so tight that they looked like drainpipes) and brightly coloured socks. Their shoes had very sick rubber soles and their long hair was swept upwards and backwards.

This was like a revolution in fashion: before the Teddy boys came,

young people had usually worn the same kind of clothes as their parents. Now they wore what they like.

5. Young people like listening to various music. Now let's meet with the history of rock and pop. (СЛАЙДЫ)

What sort of music do young people prefer nowadays? (диаграмма на слайде)' Students do the next task in pairs. Below there is the information about music styles. Match the descriptions with the styles.
Psychedelic or acid rock; Reggae; Punk rock; Rock-n-roll; Techno.

A. It began in the early1950s in the USA. Within a few years it had become America's newest and most popular kind of music. In the mid-1950s it became the central part of rebellion.

B. These free-form improvisation and light shows appeared about 1966.

C. This music began in the UK and was thought to be aggressive. It was a rejection of everything that had been before. It was designed to shock.

D. This is the most important form of the 1970s and 1980s. It has a heavy dance beat, but is not too fast. It is a mix of rock, African and South American music. It has a message of peace and optimism.

E. This music is made on computers and performed mainly by deejays instead of old-fashioned bands.

6.Which type are you?

Rock-n-roll. You like nice, loud music- everything from the Rolling Stones to today’s heavy metal (like Guns N’Roses or Metallica). You have long hair and a leather jacket.

Rap. You like mostly black bands-with a heavy beat and lots of words. You wear dark glasses and athletics shoes.

Indie. You like very new British bands- different modern, interesting. You buy your clothes at street markets.

Pop. You like the pretty songs on the radio 24 hours a day- and in supermarkets! Australians Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan are your favourites these days. You look…. well normal!

Dance. You like a non-stop beat. The music is more important than the words!

 7. What music style do teens prefer? (Диаграмма)

8. Now it's your turn.(Тесты и кроссворды на слайдах)
