I think that any educated person must learn foreign languages. I have been learning English since the ages of 8. I like learning English very much. But I like and know well my native language – Russian.
Learning English is very difficult for me. I often ask my teacher: why we should learn 12 tenses, when in Russian we learn only three. I do not understand why we use articles if everything is clear without them in Russian.
My teacher explains me that the Russian is a part of Slavonic branch of the Indo-European languages. English is Romanic language. Moreover the phonological systems of Russian and English are very different. It is why we rarely can speak English like native English speakers.
I try to learn English like native English speakers.
