Teacher : Hello, everyone! Welcome to our lesson. Today we are going to speak about travelling and tourism .I doubt anyone can imagine modern life without travelling and holidays are a wonderful chance to relax, have fun and explore new places and countries.
Today we shall have a competition of 3 teams .
(класс делится на команды. Учитель выступает в роли ведущего.В конце урока подводятся итоги конкурса, объявляется команда – победитель. )
Let’s start. Could you tell me what makes реоple spend time and money on travelling and sightseeing? What are the reasons for travelling?
Students:

-to learn a lot of new and interesting things about foreign people and foreign

-to see different ways of life;
-to practice language;
-to try different food;
-to meet people, to make friends.
Teacher: I absolutely agree with you! Travelling broadens our mind .So let’s begin our journey.

Teacher: Do you know what the capital of Portugal is? It is a city almost 20 centuries old. Would you like to learn more about Lisbon? Listen to the text. You’ll hear the recording twice and then do the text(choose one of 3 choices given below. Circle the letter of the answer you choose) Before listening look through the questions.

Teacher: New year is coming and I’m sure it will be great to spend winter holidays somewhere abroad .There are 3 attractive tourist places, 3 European countries- France, Italy and Spain. Your task is to attract our attention to these countries in a form of a tourist guide .You have 5 minutes to translate the text from Russiаn into English.(приложение №4) The highest score is 5.
Teacher: When you are in a foreign country you ask a lot of questions to find out information about various things. Your next task is to change the questions to a more polite form .I’ll give you 5 minutes to do the task.(приложение №5)
Teacher: And now our next contest! Travelling around the world a person meets a lot of people. Almost every nation has a reputation of some kind .Choose, underline, read and translate adjectives which go with the Russians, Americans and British.1 point for each correct word. (приложение №6)

Teacher: It was our last contest .Our tour is coming to an end. I think we covered the subject quite thoroughly. Did you find it interesting? Summing it up I’d like to say that there are many beautiful places in the world but there’s no place like home .Our native place cannot boast any unusual sights or exotic landscapes but it is the best place to live

…аnd as usual on a Thursday morning at this time we take a look at one of the world’s capitals. Today we’ll be heading to Lisbon, a city almost 20 centuries old that offers its visitors a variety of things to see and do. Lisbon is located on seven hills and on the Tagus river making it a very impressive sight. Its position on the Atlantic coast also means that Lisbon has a pleasant temperature during the winter and cool summers.
Lisbon is quite big and about 600.000 people live there but for the tourist everything of interest is within walking distance of the city centre. There are a lot of pleasant street cafes and beautiful old houses everywhere in Lisbon. So wherever you go there are things to see.
The Alfama is a very old part of Lisbon where you can find lots of very old buildings in tiny streets, and of course the famous Castelo de Sao Jorge right at the top of the hill overlooking the town. The Baixa area is nearby and is a bit different. It has larger streets and lots of modern shops. In the evenings take a walk through the streets of the Bairro Alto area and you will find a lot of cafes, restaurants, and music bars. It is very nice to take the tram but the best way to get around in Lisbon is to take the Metro .You can visit Lisbon anytime of year but the best times are from April to June and September to October.

Отправиться в Италию можно на самолете или поезде.

В Париже много милых(pleasant)уличных кафе и красивых старых зданий. Париж-столица мировой моды(world fashion)и вы можете увидеть там много современных магазинов. На морских курортах вы прекрасно проведете время, купаясь и загорая. Франция - отличное (great) место для жизни!
