    I.1. Организационный момент. 
Teacher: -Good morning, children and guests.

                     I hope you are well enough to begin our lesson. Sohow are you today?

                     Do you like the weather today?

                     Do you like traveling?

                     Today I suggest you to travel around London.

                     The aim of our lesson is to get as much information about London as possible.

Well, today we’ll have an unusual lesson – an excursion around London.

 What is LONDON?

            Of course it is the capital of Great Britain. But before we start our traveling let’s repeat                                   the words that will be necessary for us.

Welcome to London, one of the largest cities in the world. It is more then 2000 years old. About 7 million people live there.

1.      BuckinghamPalaceis the Royal residence. It was built in 1703.It is now the official home of Queen Elizabeth. There are nearly six hundred rooms and 3 miles of red carpet. Buckingham Palace is like a small town, with a police station, a hospital, a bar, a cinema and a swimming pool.

2.      The Tower of London-The Tower of London is a very old building. It is 900 years old. It was a fortress, a residence of kings, a prison, the King Zoo and now it’s a museum. The ravens are another famous sign. The legend says that without them the Tower will fall.

3.      TowerBridgeis the only Thames Bridge which can be raised. The Tower Bridge was built by Queen Victoria. It is the symbol of the city.

4.      Westminster Abbeyis more than nine hundred years old. There are many monuments and statues there, many English kings and queens are buried there. It is famous for the Poet’s Corner. It is one of the most famous and beautiful churches in London. This church has two tall towers. In 1952 Queen Elizabeth was crowned there.

5.      The Houses of Parliamentare near Westminster Abbey. It has got two houses- the House of Commons and the House of Lords. The members of the British Parliament Work in these buildings. Here tourists can listen to debates. The large clock in one of the towers of the Houses of Parliament is “Big Ben”. It is the name of 13 ton bell hung within the clock Tower. You can hear the sound of “Big Ben” every hour in London.

6.      The Monument to Admiral Nelson.Trafalgar Square is the most popular place for people to meet. In the middle of the Square stands a tall column. It is a monument to Admiral Nelson. It is 51 m high. It is in front of the National Gallery. St.-Martin-in-the-fields is not far from here.

7.      The National Gallerystands in Trafalgar square. It is famous for its pictures. There are a lot of Italian and French pictures. You can see two thousand pictures there.

8.      The British Museumis the largest and richest museum in the world. It is situated in Great Russell Street It was founded in 1753.It has mountains of books.   It has a copy of every book published in this country. There is the Round Reading Room with its newly gilded dome.

9.      London Eyeis the biggest wheel in Britain. It is located on the south bank of the river Thames. The highest point of the wheel is 135 m. There is a wonderful view from it.

10.  Madame Tussaud`s MuseumIt is the world’s most famous waxwork museum. Museum has got wax models of famous people from all over the world. The models look like real people. 2 million tourists go there every year

11.  The London Undergroundis the 1st ever Underground railway system in the world. It opened more than 100 years ago. It has 300 underground stations and it is about 300 kilometers long. The tube is used by hundreds of people who travel from the suburbs into central London every day.

-         Walk straight on and turn left near the bank. You can’t miss it.

-         The post office is in High Street. Turn left at the bridge, walk straight on and turn right. You can’t miss it.

XI.Итог. And now I want you to answer the question of our topic:«Do you want to visit London? »

 But it will be in unusual way too. (На доске два флага и две картинки- самолет и дом.) You have 2 kinds of smiles. If you want to visit London-stick the happy smile here, if you do not- stick the sad smile there. Let’s do it one by one.  Well, we see that everybody wants to visit London. We have got one dream and I hope our dream will be true. Thank you for the lesson, you were good today. All of you will get excellent marks.
